Talent Manager and TPR First Time Mum Nadine Pike On All Things Skin And Beauty
Becoming a first-time mum is undoubtedly a transformational experience, your body is going through exceptional changes, both expected and unexpected, as it performs a miracle, creating new life inside of you.
In the lead up to Mother’s Day this year, we sat down with one of Sydney’s leading talent managers and first-time TPR Mum, Nadine Pike to share her thoughts on what beauty means to her, how this has changed since welcoming little Rocky into the world and her advice for future mum’s to be when it comes to managing their skin and beauty routines.
Interview with Nadine Pike
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty means so many things to me... Confidence, fun and feeling good.
How do you think this has changed since becoming a first time mum?
This has definitely changed and I have found that self care is so important being a first time Mum, especially when you are so sleep deprived. Time for me now is precious, so I really do need products that are effective in my routine and don't take long to apply.
Did you find your skin changed during pregnancy? If so, how did you manage it?
I was very lucky as my skin was perfect during my pregnancy and drinking loads of water definitely helped. However, after Rocky was born my skin changed and had a lot of breakouts due to lack of sleep and breastfeeding, so to combat the breakouts I apply GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment to the problem areas.
What piece of advice would you share for those going through pregnancy for the first time when it comes to their skin?
During your pregnancy your skin will be glowing so let your skin breathe, apply only light make-up when necessary, SPF50+ everyday and sleep. SLEEP! I truly believe that not enough sleep affects your skin. Most of all, treat yourself while you have this time on your own. Facials are great and highly recommend the Signature Facial at The Parlour Room.
To date, what does your current skincare routine look like? Any favourite products or treatments?
First thing in the morning, I apply Estee Lauder advanced night repair supercharged complex under my eyes. I keep this in the fridge so it is nice and cool when I apply to reduce puffiness. La Mer, The Renewal Oil and then La Mer, Crème de la Mer, the tiniest amount goes a long way. Finish this off with Ultra Violette, Queen Screen Luminising Sun Serum SPF 50+
And your go-to beauty look?
I do like to keep my beauty look pretty simple and important to have a foundation that has good coverage and long lasting. When you are a Mum this is super important to hide those dark circles and tired looking skin. Charlotte Tilbury Foundation is a must for me and have been using this throughout my pregnancy till now, covering EVERYTHING!
Lastly, when it comes to all things skin and beauty, have you recently discovered any mum life hacks that you can share with us?
Once a week on a Sunday night I use the Estee Lauder, Advanced Night Repair Mask. I pop it in the fridge overnight so it is nice and cool upon application, to reduce any puffiness. Best thing is it only takes 10mins.
