Mother’s Day is upon us and over the coming few weeks we will be interviewing some of our favourite mums who frequent The Parlour Room. We’ll ask them to share their lessons learned through motherhood, the best beauty advice they’ve ever received and their favourite beauty finds.

WHAT IS THE BEST BEAUTY ADVICE YOUR MUM EVER GAVE YOU?
My mum is always well-groomed and chic. From an early age she’d tell me:
‘When you’re getting ready in the morning, spend that extra five minutes to make yourself look and feel fabulous.’
It’s always stayed with me; no matter how crazy my morning – and the AM has got a whole lot more hectic with a baby in the picture. I try and take a little moment of calm to do my hair and makeup and feel like I’m polished and ready for the day.
SINCE ENTERING MOTHERHOOD, WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED SO FAR?
Where do I begin?! Since I became a mum my life has been flipped upside down and everything has changed.
‘I’ve learned patience and resilience. I’ve learned the true value of time – how to maximise it, and how to stop and enjoy those amazing little moments with Parker. ‘
I’ve learned how to function on very little sleep. And I’ve learned that my relationship has a whole new layer that I’m loving discovering, as Nick and I settle into the role of parents.
IF YOU COULD PASS ON ONE PIECE OF ADVICE TO YOUR CHILDREN, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
There’s so much advice coming Parker’s way, but as cliché, as it sounds,
‘I’d love for her to always treat people how she would like to be treated herself.’
I’ll be raising my little girl to always be kind and considerate of others.
