Face of the Parlour Room Jan 2020: Natalie Papadopoulos
It’s no surprise that Founder and Owner of The Parlour Room, Natalie Papadopoulos, is as beautiful inside as she is on the outside. Having been a beauty professional for over a decade, Natalie is one of the best in the business. Yet she continues to practice what she preaches and embraces the fact that beauty shines from the inside out.
Nat has always loved to help women realise just how beautiful they are. Her approach has always been to create an inclusive and caring space where clients can relax and spoil themselves. Anyone who has had the pleasure of visiting the TPR salon would agree, it’s luxe.
And if that wasn't ‘goals’ enough, Natalie also manages a successful and ever-growing business, having opened TPR at just 24 years of age!
To kick start the new decade, we decided to sit down with Natalie, to talk about her vision for 2020, her recent engagement and her career advice for young women.
Q: The Parlour Room is so successful. How long has The Parlour Room been open for and what motivated you to start it?
The Parlour Room has been open for 7 years. I started studying makeup & beauty as soon as I finished school. I always knew I wanted to create my own space to offer beauty the way I wanted to.
Q: What advice would you give other young women, who want to open their own business?
Take your time, learn as much as you can from experts before you go off on your own.
Keep a list of what works what doesn't.
Have a clear vision in your mind of what you want to create.
Find a way to manage the stressful time whether its exercise or meditation.
Balance - It will help you to stay inspired & motivated to keep going for the long term. Some people go gungho from day 1 and then end up burning out & hating their business.
Prioritise your time.
Q: Who is your beauty icon and why?
My mum, she is such a natural beauty, with a classic style & carries herself with so much elegance.
Q: What is your favourite treatment at The Parlour Room and why?
My favourite treatment at TPR is our Spray Tans. It just makes me feel so good afterwards. Otherwise, I would have to say our facials. I am always on the go & rarely get to switch off, so for the odd occasion I get to escape into our facial suite and unwind, it is absolute heaven.
Q: Favourite nail colour?
I am a very neutral gal. My favourite colour is by Colour Me Pretty “Sorrow’. You’ll never see brights on my nails, I did it once and had to change it 2 days later.
Q: Congratulations on your recent engagement! With wedding planning underway, has your beauty routine changed at all? What would you recommend brides-to-be do, in the lead up to their wedding, to ensure they look and feel their best?
Thanks so much, I am so excited! I have definitely put more focus into my skincare as my wedding is going to be during a HOT European summer so I don’t want to feel like I need a lot of coverage. I have worked out all my facials for the lead up so that I won’t have any intense facials close to the wedding in case my skin reacts.
I also have started to take much better care of my nails. I never used to bother to do them as I am very time poor, but ever since I have been engaged & been getting regular manis and popping on my cuticle oil my nails are so long, people are asking if they are fake!
Q: Favourite holiday destination?
Italy! My partner is Italian so we have done a lot of travelling around Italy with his family so it feels extra special to me, it’s where we are going to have our wedding as well. We would love to go to Bora Bora but haven’t been yet!
Q: Big things are happening for TPR in 2020. Can you give us any hints?
Sorry, you’ll just have to wait and see, my lips are sealed!
Q: What is your beauty motto? What makes you feel beautiful?
I think the older I get the more confidence and self-acceptance I have found. I am a big less-is-more girl, I still want to feel like me under all the makeup and hair. I also think everyone looks more beautiful when they smile/laugh.
Q: One product you cannot live without?
I could not live without my O Cosmedics Comfort Cream. I need a good moisturiser as my skin gets really dry and I could not go a day without popping it on. Otherwise, I would have to say my brow pencil, I feel naked without my brows on but ever since I’ve had them tattooed it’s not so much a problem.
P.s Keep your eyes peeled for exciting TPR news and events in 2020, by following them on instagram and facebook. It's going to be their best year yet. Xx
