Nat's Bag | Your Travel Beauty Essentials
Heading overseas or planning a weekend getaway?
We know just how stressful and overwhelming packing your beauty essentials can be. From skincare and makeup and everything in between, if you're anything like Nat, you'll need up to three foundations (one to match your natural skin tone, when you're tan and one for going out), and an array of supplementary skin, hair and body care essentials for anything and everything should the occasion arise.
To help you on your next travel adventures, Nat shares with us her go-to essentials she’ll be bringing with her this Spring.
What’s In nat’s bag
An area we often forget, our hands and cuticles can dry out just as much as the skin on the rest of our bodies. This is your new best friend while travelling for strong, healthy and hydrated nails. Packed full of Vitamin E, it’s designed to nourish the cuticle and surrounding skin which especially while travelling, will help ensure they remain strong, healthy and hydrated, preventing any cracks and resulting in dry, weak and brittle nails.
For best results, apply daily in the morning and night, adding an extra step to your regular skincare routines.
I’m not the best at blowdrying my hair but this brush makes styling a breeze. It’s like a blow dry and straightener in one, which means you don’t have to pack both and can save on precious space instead. It gives a really smooth bouncy finish and compared to using a straightening all the time, it’s a lot gentler on my hair.
I love a tinted SPF, especially when it’s 50+! It makes getting ready that much quicker, especially if I know I’m going to be outside and won’t need a full face of makeup. This one from Naked Sundays is great because it gives you just the right amount of coverage without compromising the UV protection. It’s really hydrating as well which means you continue to reapply throughout the day and if you’re planning on going out that evening, it’s the perfect primer for your makeup.
I love a travel beauty hack, especially when it saves on both time and space when packing! The Isle of Paradise tanning drops are my new go-to for achieving that subtle glow when the spray tan starts to fade. Convenient and compact, there’s no room for exploding mishaps in the suitcase either, simply add a few drops to your moisturiser and see results overnight. If you like, you can also add it to your body lotion - just wear a glove as with that many applications you may notice your hands start to stain.
For all those pesky fly-away strands, I love using this gel to master that sleek and chic look. Quick, convenient and compact, it’s easy to use, and small enough to throw into your handbag which makes it perfect for when on the go. Taking all of 10 seconds to brush the hairs in place, this product has officially become number one on my favourites list and is there to stay all Summer long.
I always keep a sachet of these in my skincare bag and so should you! The at-home equivalent to our Fire & Ice facial at SELF, the Is Clinical Active Peel System will have your skin smooth, shiny and glowing in under 5 minutes. To use, simply cleanse as you usually would and then follow the instructions on the pack, you’ll experience a slight tingling sensation first (the good kind) before cooling and soothing the skin with the final hydrating step to finish. Make sure you only use it at night and remember to lather up with SPF in the morning, as your skin can be quite sensitive following the peel.
Our brows tend to fade a lot quicker when outside in the sun and pursuing holiday activities such as swimming, so having something you can apply on the go, to give your brows a boost is not only convenient but practical as well. A simple way to feel more put together, it also makes putting makeup on that much easier.
